spay neuter clinic

BECAUSE THESE ARE THE HARD FACTS!

Every litter, planned or accidental, causes pet overpopulation. More than 70,000 puppies and kittens are born every day in the United States. Only one out of five will end up living their entire lifetime in a responsible home. Most end up scavenging for food, living a shortened life, or dying alone through some misfortune.

Each year virtually every community in the United States must euthanize the vast majority of the animals coming into their shelters because there simply aren’t enough homes for them all. According to the Humane Society of the United States, 6,000,000 are killed every year at shelters. This means 500,000 a month.

spay neuter clinicHow many offspring can one unsterilized dog or cat produce? One female dog and her offspring can be the source of 67,000 puppies in just six years. One female cat and her offspring can be the source of 420,000 cats in only seven years.

Whose fault is the pet overpopulation problem? Every person who allows their pet to have even one litter is guilty of directly contributing to the problem. While it is difficult for someone to believe that their “one litter” has caused over-population, it did!

We are thrilled to have responsible pet owners wanting to spay or neuter their pets, and we are happy to help! Through grants and by operating primarily with volunteers, our clinic is able to keep our prices low and really make a difference in the Verde Valley and Sedona area!
